Polylactic acid (PLA) is a new type of bio based and renewable biodegradable material made from starch raw materials proposed by renewable plant resources such as corn and cassava. Starch raw materials are obtained through saccharification to obtain glucose, which is then fermented with certain strains to produce high-purity lactic acid. Then, a certain molecular weight polylactic acid is synthesized through chemical synthesis methods. It has good biodegradability and can be completely degraded by microorganisms in nature under specific conditions after use, generating carbon dioxide and water without polluting the environment. This is very beneficial for environmental protection and is recognized as an environmentally friendly material.

Polylactic acid, also known as polylactide, belongs to the polyester family. Poly (lactic acid) is a polymer obtained by polymerization of lactic acid as the main raw material, commonly known as corn plastic. It is mainly made from l-lactic acid produced from corn and cassava, and is a new type of fully biodegradable polyester material through processes such as condensation, cracking, purification, and polymerization. The production process of polylactic acid is pollution-free, and the product can be biodegradable to achieve circulation in nature. Therefore, it is an ideal green polymer material and also a high-tech and environmentally friendly product encouraged by the country. It is widely used in electronic product shells, automotive parts, clothing fibers, agricultural film, food packaging, tableware and other fields.

The production line mainly consists of a flat twin extruder, screen changer, metering pump, mold, three rollers, cooling bracket, traction, winding, etc. The extruder adopts a new type of parallel twin, which has the characteristics of low energy consumption, simple process, and convenient equipment maintenance.

The production line is suitable for the production of pla (polylactic acid) and modified pla. Pla (polylactic acid) is derived from plant resources and can be directly used for extrusion molding. Due to its biodegradability, compostability, and recyclability, pla and soluble pla are equipped with a melt metering pump for quantitative extrusion, with closed-loop control of speed and pressure to ensure uniform thickness of the sheet. The rollers are independently driven, and the linear speed of each roller is synchronously controlled. The production line has the characteristics of high output, low energy consumption, and high degree of automation.
